Technology is a tool, a very useful tool, but it can never be seen as an end unto itself. Whether personal existential emergency or public cataclysmic panic ( like
political changes ), no moment grants to technology the right to triumph over thinking. This is an important tenet to keep us grounded in reality. This is not
social commentary. Because so very many of our friends and family have been infected with the confusion, your own stand against "Technology as a God," is demanded in this
social revolution. The scope of the disease is extensive because the number of voyeurs has grown like some recursive virus expanding exponentially. In this sense, the voyeurs themselves have "gone viral." Please, do not misread what we are saying. Let us pause a bit here, in the name of understanding, and get technology right. It is not only a waste of time but even ill-advised to denounce technology for two main reasons. 1. Technology is defenseless. 2. Technology is made in the image of man. To attack the weak and defenseless is not only cowardly but an exercise in sadism. On the contrary, technology needs thought and even nurturing. As technology was built to fulfill and be fulfilled by us, attacking it would be self-destructive. We are neither cowardly shirkers nor self-destructive, so let us proclaim: reactionaries we are not.
Machines as Idols
The common thread between voyeurs is the wholeheartedness by which they merge with technology, seeing it not as a tool but as a purpose. Once this mindset has been fully absorbed, the path to voyeur enlightenment is an INFORMATION NIRVANA. This obliteration of self and consequent relinquishing of control is obtained by voyeur adherents of varying sects. The Pontiffs who have blind faith and serve as leaders in the voyeur temple.
Political commentary is their proclamation. The Nihilists who have hatred for both independent thought and themselves. The Cynics who deride others who speak Truth and Knowledge. The Confused who are willfully lost in a sea of unthinking. The Total Voyeurs who have melded themselves with technology, making machines a part of their very existence. These sects are just arbitrary distinctions, and indeed, in practice a single voyeur may be a member of many or all. The voyeurs inability or unwillingness to seize control over their own thinking, the very thing which produces the SELF ITSELF, constitutes the critical existential dilemma. Voyeurs take heed: if you want to give up your control to an outside force, society has been built for this purpose and will be a better investment than your information nirvana. By releasing your sense of self, you feed the goals of those who want to create in society a pacified flock.
